Educational Therapy

We provide one-to-one and small group therapy for children. At the initial intake meeting, we use informal, formal, norm-referenced and evidence-based assessments to observe your child’s behaviour and authentic functioning in certain skills. Our educational therapist will create a learning profile of your child and during the initial meeting, our therapist will listen to your concerns and will give appropriate, honest suggestions and recommendations including whether or not educational therapy is the right fit for your child. If the evaluation shows that educational therapy is the best solution for your child’s learning difficulties, our therapist will design an individualised educational programme for your child.

Structured Mathematics is a programme that focuses on child’s development and understanding of mathematical concepts and thinking skills through progressive steps and differentiated teaching instructions. This programme seeks to maximise your child’s potential by recognising that each individual has unique interests and ways of learning and responding to instruction. Learning activities and materials are varied by difficulty to challenge your child at different readiness levels; in response to his/her interests and learning style. The objective is to build your child’s confidence and interest in the subject resulting in successful application of the mathematical concepts and strategies during examination and in real-life.

Structured Literacy is a programme that develops child’s oral and written English Literacy skills. The programme covers Spelling, Reading, Grammar, Vocabulary, Comprehension and Writing. Your child will be exposed to a variety of multi-sensorial exercises that completely engages his/her brain and senses. Your child will be given ample opportunities to apply their language skills and to develop critical-thinking skill.

Study Skills is a programme for developing critical skills essential for examinations to help your child maximise his/her grade through acquiring the strategies and exam-taking skills while building strong subject knowledge. In this programme, your child will be coached on how to develop a personalised study plan and will be provided with the emotional support necessary to handle the stress associated with examination.

Cognitive Remediation is a programme aims to improve your child’s executive function skills. Therapy sessions in this programme will involve the use of drill and practice, compensatory and adaptive strategies to facilitate improvement in targeted cognitive areas like memory, attention and problem solving.

Our educational therapy programmes are designed to teach children how to learn and not just what to learn. Each therapy session aims to facilitate academic and non-academic skills improvement to attain our goal of producing independent learners with life-long functional skills.
